New Hampshire becomes first state to have governor sign into law a reserve bill allowing the state to invest in digital assets and precious metals

Congrats to New Hampshire! Still uses words like digital assets, but from what I understand it only focuses on those with a market cap above $500 billion which at present is only Bitcoin.

Hopefully the states uses this to the benefit of the people

If it wasn't so fuckin cold I would strongly consider living there

So, bitcoin price doesn’t really care right now. Why?

“New Hampshire’s total state budget for FY 2025 is estimated at around $7.5 billion, with a treasury investment portfolio of approximately $750 million. Under the new law, the state could realistically invest between $7.5 million and $37.5 million in Bitcoin, with a moderate estimate of $15 million (about 158 BTC at current prices). This allocation would depend on how much the state prioritizes Bitcoin over stablecoins and precious metals, as well as its overall risk tolerance and competing budget prioritiess” -grok
