but are replies the best way to do that or just a way to do that and spread awareness of your service? why not nip-04 or nip-17/44 dms?

It's a good question. DMs on Nostr are a mess unfortunately, and generally most users won't get them, don't know where to find them, or worse. Actually, when users want support, we at this point usually direct them to Signal or another messenger, because usually the user can't receive our Nostr DMs....
