FINALLY

(Does that mean we're old ?)

XD I didn't know when the switch happened, that's how oblivious I was. But I know that most of my problems are resolved by /usr/bin/bash...

Same. I guess the switch happened around the time Apple switched their default shell interpreter, but I never noticed any difference, my shell needs are not so fancy.

I'm in some server terminal all day long, my needs are also very basic

.....The only modification I do to bash is using ohmybash. Not sure ive used zsh

How fancy! I believe zsh is the default shell for Debian and friends now and has been for a bit. I know it is in docker containers and it's a royal pita.

With Debbie Trixie as a daily driver, I'm genuinely surprised I missed that. 🤣

Debian*

Actually I can't seem to confirm that. I'd definitely like to know if that's the case for you! I don't daily drive Debian but on the servers I interact with, it's the default but that could be my vps providers or upstreams. I'm also 99% sure that's the case on ubuntu docker images.

As a shell or as a scripting language?

Assuming you’re talking about the former I’d love to hear your reasons. I haven’t touched my shell config in too long and I could use any excuse to rice my config instead of doing my day job 😂

XD

Both I guess? Writing scripts that are interpreted by ZSH. No my answer will disappoint. What I know and what do with my terminal is fairly mundane and on zsh it just doesn't work how I want it to.
