Iโ€™m either making a BIG mistake or a great decisionโ€ฆ time will tell.

I try to be proactive & stay a step ahead, so tomorrow I installing solar on my home: an $85,000 22kw system with roughly 35 roof panels, two Tesla Powerwall 3s, & an upgraded digital SPAN electrical panel that I can control from my phone.

With green energy tax credits expiring Dec 31 & Trumpโ€™s โ€œbig, beautiful billโ€ allowing the system to be fully depreciated in a single tax year, & with everything going โ€œaccording to planโ€ it should result in roughly $50,000 back in tax credits to apply against the principle.

That puts the system on a 5โ€“6 year payoff timeline. Wish me luck โ˜€๏ธ

Good luck, but that seems super expensive given how cheap equipment is now. Whats the material/labour cost split?

I think itโ€™s about 50/50

As the replacement value is about $43k

But to your point, yes, I am probably overpaying.

Massively overpaying. You can get 20kw battery for 5k now. The panels and alternator are cheap 3-4k. I would get more offers.

You forgot to buy some corn miners

you can't run an ASIC on that

Easily could run multiple

not in practice.

you have to subtract all the other electrics you need to run AND what you lost overnight and need to recharge AND a cushion for cloudiness

and with only 22kwh of storage you're worried about draining your batteries if you walk away and leave it

you could have an ASIC and use it to burn off surplus juice when its sunny though

I think itโ€™s 27kwh of storage in the power walls

But 22kw of max output per hour in the panelsโ€ฆ if I understand all this stuff correctly

Wow. Great idea. Enjoy! I have 1/10th of it.

You havenโ€™t run into the #EMF crowd I take it?
