Cash leaves no record which is why it’s the payment of choice for shady shit. Why would you want to make illegal transactions to be stored on the blockchain?
I’m clearly not an expert, and I get that claims of illicit activity with BTC is the angle that governments will use when they attempt to crush it. But if your censorship resistant tech isn’t being used for illicit activity it may not actually be censorship resistant. So I’m not sure I understand the reaction that this is FUD/ BS. That BTC may facilitate these transactions wouldn’t really surprise me if BTC is permissionless. Am I missing something?
I seriously doubt that these people are actually using BTC or Tether. I think they are greasing the wheels at the behest of the US government.
