Hmm, a dilemma. I don't wanna open a 3D-printer print-farm, no need to turn another hobby into a job (been there, done that, others are also better at it).

But I still want to be able to print for others, and include more people in this strange hobby of mine.

Is there some middle ground that I'm not aware of?

Find things your friends/family need and print those. It helps to learn cad and create random useful things you cannot buy. Learn about things you could print for a friends business or job and offer to create and sell to them. Nice gifts are always useful to print. Just try not to print too much useless thingymajigs. I print lots of additional parts for my sons train set and marble maze that will eventually get passed to some other kid.
