Have you ever done or considered doing a Vipassana meditation retreat?
Discussion
I really wanna try one day. Seems like a good challenge
Yes! You should do it if you’re considering it.
I’m looking into where to go, would love to do one this year.
Came out of one a month ago. Was an incredible experience. Just need to orange pill them 🤣
I’m a bit nervous I must admit. Have that same feeling as going to summer camp when I was younger.
You didn’t manage to donate Bitcoin at the end? 😄
I was too. But it’s fine. First three days are tough. And they acknowledge that when you’re there. But once you get through that you will be really glad you did. And once you get through the whole thing you might be considering like me when to go again. Paying in India was not slick. I wanted to pill them but didn’t get the right moment. Do you know where you want to do it?
It’s nearly impossible to get a spot in Europe so I might use this as an opportunity to travel to Asia.
Currently looking at centers in Japan, that sounds pretty dreamy tbh
I’ve heard Thailand is very good too. But if you can get to India I would definitely encourage that as it really is its spiritual home
Thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking India but travelling with my partner and not sure if she would be good for 10 days alone there.
But it’s still definitely an option.
There are horror stories from every country. Don’t let one paint a bad picture. She wouldn’t want to do the Vipassanna?
I have done 3 10 day courses. Planning to go to my fourth course in December. I was not regular earlier at home but recently started doing 1 hour each in morning and evening. This course is useful ONLY when we regularly practise at home. I live in Hyderabad. I am lucky that there are many centers near my home.
That’s very interesting, haven’t heard that before.
I do not meditate every day but was hoping I would into that shape by doing a full course.
But maybe I need to focus more on my own daily practice.
