If you achieve it by putting a centralized censoring proxy in front of nostr, what have you actually achieved?

Answer: You've just parasitically coopted an organic social graph to enrich a bunch of ship-at-all-costs VC fucksticks.
the primal caching server is open source, anyone can run it, and its user configurable in the app
its not that different from relays, a server that distributes signed nostr events
furthermore users can easily use any other app since identity is portable
the idea that all nostr apps must read directly from a specific type of server is a weird hill to die on
Why bother when it performs lime Amethyst gimped by Tor. What the Hell are you guys doing with that money.
Primal loads decently, I was just saying that Amethyst is catching up.
This is just in my anecdotal experience.
I’m sure by objective metrics primal probably loads faster.
Overall, I imagine that Vitor will probably add self-hosted tor caching if that’s a thing in a future update.
I’m just here on Nostr for fun.
its good that both amethyst and primal exist
the proxy is open source, you can run it yourself if you want
