What’s the value proposition of being able to log into a client with someone else’s npub, particularly when it comes to DMs?

Anyone can see who has been messaging one another, and while the contents of the message are encrypted a lot can be inferred by the cadence of the conversation.

I can see it being useful in a government environment to provide much needed transparency, but what does the average Joe gain from that?
