If you’re ever unlucky enough to find yourself wasting time in a conversation with a Communist, ask them this question:
Why do people always flee FROM communist countries, but no one ever flees TO communist countries?

“Because true communism hasn’t been tried. True communism is when I’m allowed to play video games all day or make art. Not toil and the fields in between coal mining seasons. Stalin was a capitalist!”
Which sounds like a valid question until you understand the cultist's perspective.
(I said understand, not agree with)
The iron armor of the philosophical Marxist is that all attempts to propel evolution forward toward the enlightened, Communist man has been derailed and failed to arrive at it's end goal.
Therefore, "real Communism has never been tried."
Those communist countries that no one dies trying to get to, will always be considered iterative failures.
As long as that claim is only treated as a punchline by those that have not spent any time reading the source material, the conversation will always stop there.
The issue is utopianism and it's never ending hope vs. reality and a system that is impossible to implement based on core misunderstanding of human nature.
For my own part, I blame Hegel.
