I was wondering Anita... what you think about Monero? And if you see it is used around places where you pass by?
If you’re into #Bitcoin and want to feel how living on it works come to #SouthAfrica and travel along the Garden Route.
You’ll find many places accepting BTC on @btcmap you can visit nostr:npub1zkr064avsxmxzaasppamps86ge0npwvft9yu3ymgxmk9umx3xyeq9sk6ec @bitcoinloxion @bitcoinwitsand purchase food, clothes, electricity and pay your municipal bills at any PicknPay.
I‘m trying to visit as many places I can to incentivize the early adopter merchants to stick to accepting it. Some waiters are intimidated other cashiers seem to be totally used to it.

No, I don’t see it being used anywhere. It’s a tool if you need high privacy, but on the other hand it singles you out even more as not so many people are using it. I fear that total privacy will be outlawed, exchanges are already delisting Monero. Something like Lightning (which is being used constantly in African countries) gives pretty good privacy and with BOLT 12 even more so as soon as it is implemented fully.
It's not surprising you don't see it being used anywhere if you aren't a Monero user.
If I don't use a currency of course I won't be familiar with where to spend it.
I also don't understand your reasoning. If privacy is going to be outlawed, why would they magically give Lightning a pass? Or are you saying Lightning doesn't provide very strong privacy?
