They also shut down internet and phone networks to the outside world. My friends in Germany can't even call their families anymore. If anybody here has a good idea for simple comm bridges let me know. #bangladesh

Basically - from reading the comments on the video:
It works over short distances (about 5km)
It's basically an off-grid pager/ walkie talkie but for cell phones.

I love love love the idea of LoRa and am planning to get a device for tinkering, but I think there are not enough nodes/bandwidth to make this an option at the moment. At least not with my resources 😄 I could spin up a proxy but I can't drop hundreds of devices at a border to enable a mesh network 😅
