The girls seem to be doing alright with the cold today. I recently put these old dresser shelves in so they had a little more protection from the wind. #grownostr #chickens

Thats what we've been doing today, extra protection, extra hay.
They should be fine without heat unless you are in Alaska... but yes stopping drafts is a good idea. You don't want snow blowing in there...
This is my first winter with chickens. I had quail for the last 2 years and it was very important with the quail to keep dry and out of the wind.
I love that idea of repurposing those drawers. Perfect! I'm going to have to try that.
