1. The feeling that lightning is instant and effortless comes from big permissioned liquidity providers that opened fat channels when fees were low.

2. Not only is it impossible to open channel liquidity for all #Bitcoin, I don't see (as it stands today) how everyone will have *their own* channel liquidity.

3. Noncustodial #Lightning with embedded nodes is insanely buggy and slow. Basically DOA. Hopefully this improves.

4. Starting to understand why arkpill.me is so crucial.

Lightning has been working reliably for me since 2019 as a pleb with a raspi. It's 1000x better than it was when we started now than then. Alby hub's functionality has been a huge development in the last year, and Zeus as a frontend makes spending feel better than custodial solutions with the clean frontend and ease of use.

What tools are you using today that make you bearish on lightning?

Tools and adoption is much better. Agreed the UX is smoother these days when liquidity is available.

The problem with channels persists, and it's a big, massive problem imho.
