It’s not like bitcoin though. Will people come back to nostr in 10 years and rediscover their nsec and be rich? I guess if they connected a custodial wallet it’s possible, but doubtful.
You would rather tell someone to just use X, than use Damus and CashApp?
There is nothing preventing someone from doing that now. It’s a step backwards. It reintroduces all the issues that people face with payments on existing social networks like X, and it does nothing to solve for the global nature of a network like Nostr where even at this stage there are people from all over the world interacting and transacting. Cashapp, PayPal, etc, don’t solve for that, and forget about micro transactions between those networks using legacy financial systems. You seem intent on being obtuse about things that are obvious. This thread is becoming a waste of time. Good luck with your experiment.

maybe nostr will be used as a protocol to attract more people to bitcoin and maybe that’s fine if it does that; a shitposting/bitcoin circular economy has some legs already
i am just hoping the nostr protocol could offer more for people looking for something other than X, and maybe it will someday

I found Nostr without anyone telling me to find Nostr. Helped that I got booted off Twitter but I didn’t need any push. Actually nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m endorsement was huge for me and we already have that.
