Her uncle actually helped me put a codelock on the door and she immediately requested the code and it's been downhill ever since. I tried. Mostly I just wanted a space that I could leave things out that might otherwise be a little dangerous for my young child, but that ended rapidly. It's not her fault, I failed to properly and non-acrimoniously set a boundry. I should have perhaps bought a bigger house, but I imagine that would have just been filled with things as well.
Man, marriage seems to come with a lot of compromises 😉

It's relaly just where she piles stuff thats in the way of other things in the house proper. I don't mind anymore but it used to bother me. Marriage is work and you have to pick your battles for sure.

Assuming that it wouldn’t happen is maybe your mistake. It is a constant process the rest of your life. I just silently move my wife’s stuff out of my space and put it in her area where it will visually bother her and then magically she finds a better spot for it or gets rid of stuff. Renting storage space is an option, just understand that like a shelf, it is a self fulfilling prophecy and it will become your job to move stuff back and forth😎
