At the weekend, I went to a bakery and ordered five filled Berliners and a sandwich. “That makes a total of €13.35, please.” I held out a hundred-euro bill to her. "Unfortunately, I can’t accept it.” I laughed. "I'm sorry, what? You don’t want my money?” “Sorry, we are only allowed to accept 20 and 50 euro notes.” “No 5, 10, 100, 200, and 500 euro notes?” it occurred to me. I replied, “But that’s legal tender.” "I'm sorry." Afterwards, I said goodbye politely and left the bakery. — The fight against cash is in full swing.

Yep, banks are also curtailing how much and at which days you can withdraw cash. It's a major problem for the elderly - and private society as a whole.

Many places in the US will not accept any form of cash, regardless of denomination. You must pay with both digital fiat and your digital data.
