At the weekend, I went to a bakery and ordered five filled Berliners and a sandwich. “That makes a total of €13.35, please.” I held out a hundred-euro bill to her. "Unfortunately, I can’t accept it.” I laughed. "I'm sorry, what? You don’t want my money?” “Sorry, we are only allowed to accept 20 and 50 euro notes.” “No 5, 10, 100, 200, and 500 euro notes?” it occurred to me. I replied, “But that’s legal tender.” "I'm sorry." Afterwards, I said goodbye politely and left the bakery. — The fight against cash is in full swing.

Many places in the US will not accept any form of cash, regardless of denomination. You must pay with both digital fiat and your digital data.
