Your NIP05 disrespector thing has become a little confusing now with all the impersonation bots who come up as a red dot. I actually just assumed this was a spam attack lol. Just pointing this out. Maybe you're aware and don't care tho. :)

Paying for Relays > Paying for NIP-05 providers
Well, to be fair, I got my NIP-05 from my relay and nostr:npub10npj3gydmv40m70ehemmal6vsdyfl7tewgvz043g54p0x23y0s8qzztl5h is gonna make that a thing.
I do wonder if nip05 has actually now found a usecase lol. Maybe it would be an extra annoying step for a spam attack, at the very least.
You could filter the entire feed to people with working nip05 fields? 🤔

Time, money and energy that goes into NIP-05 is not being spent on Relays.
This is true during:
- the onboarding of new users
- use of an app that is constantly verifying DNS stuff in the background
Users need Relays anyway and they literally make most "problems" addendums like NIP-05 pretend to fix complete non-issues.
When I first joined I really struggled to get a nip05, it seemed to be required to be 'found' / 'visible'. I'm not very tech savvy so it was quite annoying. It was even more annoying when I found out I neednt have bothered at all lol

Spending that time on setting up a lightning address would probably have been better spent, so I can zap you 😜 .

Absolutely. There are a few nip05 options tho. You also don't even need to fill that field.

zaps.lol is one option I believe (it's also good for a free customisation of a lightning address)
