Important for non-Americans to know: a majority of US voters have since November of last year supported a ceasefire in Gaza, and support has only grown since then. The US government is acting in direct opposition to what its people want, and this is looking increasingly likely to cost President Biden the election. what's your position on Hamas releasing the hostages in relation to the ceasfire?
I don’t know. It’s obviously incredibly hard. I just can’t get over tens of thousands of civilians dying and two million basically starving. Let’s stop the killing first and we can figure it out. Better options could include defunding/boycotting hamas and economic & diplomatic pressure. Maybe limited military operations to specifically rescue hostages are permissible, but mass bombing of civilian areas must be deemed unacceptable imho.
I don’t have all the answers, I just want mass civilian death to stop.
