CNN said they've been trying to interview Putin too. Apparently quite a few news organizations have & they are not all right-wing, it's just that Carlson got it so he's being attacked.

I'm guessing they didnt plan to do it in Russia. There's simply no way you can trust an interview with Putin in Russia. I don't trust that questions of any difficulty would be asked. Carlson got it because he wasn't going to actually ask tough questions. That's why he is being challenged. It's a farce.
Right, as you say that's just a guess. I would say that any news organization that wants to interview Putin is probably going to get large numbers of people wanting to view it. It's enough just to get a Yes from Putin for an interview so anyone asking for the interview is unlikely to put that in jeapordy by putting restrctions on him such as where the it can take place. Maybe they would but it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Then we come back around to my original point anyway. There's no point to watching it if you're actually seeking truth, nor is there any real point in doing it unless you're just doing it for yourself. It isn't trustworthy. It's a farce.
I certainly wasn't arguing that CNN is trustworthy, only that anyone going to Russia to do an interview isn't trustworthy as a journalist. We all know what Putin does to journalists who openly oppose him.
Look what Obama did to Assange.
Are you trying to make a point? Because if you are it isn't very clear. Assange is still alive after leaking a ton of sensitive information that put American lives in danger. That's a bit different than questioning Obama and he would be dead under Putin.
I've posted about Putin and interviewing him in Russia. I don't see the relation at all to Obama and Assange. Take care.

The people who are attacking Carlson for his interview with Putin would have been fine with a CNN interview though. An entirely different spin by the media would have been put on it allowing those who oppose Carlson's interview to accept CNN's, maybe even those fools who still belive Putin posted fake posts on Facebook to help Trump beat Hillary. (Honestly, people who still believe that are so gullible they'll believe anything their chosen media sources tells them)
