I think you could stick with the Sig P365 family, or is the barrel too long on the sub compact 365? Advantages would be same controls and grip angle, and I assume the mags are interchangable as well.

I've never tried pocket carry, but it looks very slow. If you need deep concealment, I like strong side IWB or appendix - I find myself unconcerned with deep concealment and mostly go for comfort, OWB even if its a place with a "no-guns" policy. Unless they are frisking you or youre open carrying, no one is going to stop you

P365 too big for pocket carry.

It's more about increasing carry % rate, eliminating those times when I can't be bothered.

I want something small and light that I can throw in the pocket, not much bulkier than my cell phone.

You can get shots on target sub 2 seconds and I'm okay with that for many situations.

sub 2 seconds with his hand on the gun it looked like? by all means experiment with it though

I like the Remora holsters for "oh crap I'm running late, let me throw a gun on" moments - it has a rubbery slightly sticky materal that you can use with no belt, just put between pants and skin (can get with a sweat sheild too) and in any position and cant that you want. Gun specific sizing and good retention (I wouldnt use it for gymnastics though)

Remora also makes a thigh strap, that wraps and velcros to the holster, which is the only way my wife carries when wearing dresses

The sights on the s&w look like they might snag as a pocket carry
