nostr:npub1g0587hzzckcncxfm78n0996qe2s58nspy29wf02tqcj5sdzcpj4q6j40hv doesn’t understand #Bitcoin.

Considering her ability to dive down rabbit holes I’d have thought she would have gone deeper on this topic, especially since it’s the only real resistance to the dystopia she writes about.

She’s only able to see the stupid people we left behind on tweeter. I’d probably be like this too if the only Bitcoiners I saw were like David Bailey.

She’s talking about the ETF crowd, no?

No context, got off that dumpster fire app long ago.

Her claims are not mutually exclusive. There are indeed "fuck the banks" bitcoiners AND NGU bitcoiners.

To think all bitcoiners are the same is an error of the narrow-minded.

No, there are Bitcoiners and BitcoinBugs.

The former are like white blood cells - their job is to die on the hill of defending the system.

The latter are like red blood cells - we need them for circulation but the system can lose plenty of them but will infuse new ones and survive.

To conflate BitcoinBugs who are in it for NGU, no different to GoldBugs, with ride or die Bitcoiners who are in this for something greater than themselves is a category error of those who don’t understand what is at stake.

Infrastructure inversions are hard for some people to grasp. The internet did fuck the telephone giants in a lot of ways, but they didn't completely go away because they embraced the internet & continued providing services people need. Banks will survive to the degree that they provide services people need, which is all that really matters.

The number has to go up for it to succeed. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a safe haven against inflationary theft. It also wouldn't be a scarce asset, since that's exactly what scarce assets do. People have to want it. The incentives are designed to bring in everyone. That's the only way to finally end the corruption.

Also, the whole point of #Bitcoin is that everyone can participate without gatekeepers. Keeping banks out would require us to essentially destroy the primary benefit of Bitcoin.

What is she getting wrong in your opinion?

She is conflating Bitcoiners and BitcoinBugs. The latter are present on Xitter where she posted this, Freddie Krueger types who only care about pumping their bags and will happily follow a statist fork if it comes to it so long as it means NGU for them.

Real Bitcoiners are here to flip the table and banish the bankers. NGU is part of the process but it’s not the goal.

We've got our share of clueless little #bitches. BINO's, #Bitcoin In Name Only. But they don't really have any power..🗡️💎💜🧡🦅🗽😊🌎

Well Whitney is here on Nostr, so she has visibility to these discussions. What is taking place with the aforementioned infrastructure switchover isnt some understood phenomenon that is set in stone, we will see how all of this plays out. Clearly there are many types of "bitcoiners". If you buy KYC coin, dont hold your keys havent spent hundreds of hours studying monetary history and economics and run an agorist business where you earn bitcoin, you are are not like me. If you are a kickass dev and are writing amazing apps to expand monetary freedom while earning your life in btc, I am not like you (but my hugs and gratitude go out to you!!). Even if all you are doing is changing fiat for btc that can be a good thing for the transition, however, if you dont take any ownershio in this process, then you are not helping to remove power from the controllers IMHO....THIS is what btc is all about.

Peter Schiff playbook

Agreed. But intellectual intelligence alone does not get you there 👁️

Banks can offer good and useful services to the people and companies and there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that the money printing is not one of them.
