The entire point of using a standard is to not have to learn a new set of formats for every new service you're connecting to (e.g. APIs).
The point of APIs is to allow for innovation. What we need is caniuse.com for nostr clients

I’ve been thinking about this for years. The browser got it right, we should learn from W3C.
