I have a VOIP(google voice number) that I use for WhatsApp
And I have an actual phone number for my day to day life, when I put contacts on WhatsApp does that mean my day to day life people will see my VOIP number?

Yes, because WhatsApp doesn’t know about any other number than the one you use to verify when setting it up.
