I tried to book a bunch of servers. Cheap VPS in US central to test something.
4 of 5 failed to accept my company debit card.
They either blocked me right away but then went on writing me angry emails saying that I need to pay the generated invoice or get suspended while ignoring every support request that I sent to resolve the issue.
Or they asked me to send them a printout form with a copy of my physical card and my drivers license plus a signature stating that I’m okay with getting charged through that card by them.
One Hoster whitelisted me after a support request.
And the cheapest one just waved me through.
It would be so much easier if my company could just pay with Bitcoin. But if we do anything with crypto we get legal troubles and might get expelled.

The issue with celebrities is that people who are new to the platform need to start from somewhere. Build a social graph. And the algorithm asked them to tick their favorite football player and a politician and a pop star and offered more celebs from there and people got a wrong idea of what Twitter is about.
I agree that really changed the culture. I hear on Instagram so many people grow profiles as a job and continue to game the algorithm to grow reach.
Both are not guaranteed to happen on nostr because there is no one algorithm that can be gamed apart from circle zapping farms potentially.
But users can just not extract signal from zapping amounts by using a different aggregator to explore notes. There’s a chance that this time it’s different.
