After it rains, there’s always a worm orgy.

So they don't drown
Really??
Well, I'm not a wormologist but that's what my dad told me when he went to get bait for fishing. He said the rain made them come to the surface because they'd drown. It's the noise of the drops hitting the ground apparently
Poor things
How so? If they get cut in half, they survive
There was a Kratt's Creatures episode about this, but I forgot the reason. I think it was something to do with their skin. Been a while since Jr's watched Kratt's Creatures...🤷♀️
This doesn’t surprise me actually 😂
It was one of the less annoying kid shows he watched 😂
I lied, the show was Wild Kratts. Kratt's Creatures was another one of their many shows.

So basically could be drowning or could be hungry or could be easier to move? 🤷♀️😂 worms are weird, who knew.
We dissected a worm in HS. There were died organs in them, which helped identify all the different parts. Was shocked at how complex they were, always imagined they were just tubes of slime before that
We did too! I fucking hated it
I actually enjoyed that one. Fetal pig was a bit tougher. Day 1 - break the jaw...
I got out of that one
I did as well, I got extra credit because I was the only one to locate the worm's brain.
Aren’t they sooooooo tiny like hard to see?
Yeah, it looks like a finger nail clipping but about 1/20 the size
Don't they have a couple? And they're more nerve clusters than proper brains, iirc
I'm not aware of there being more than one. That might depend on the specific species of worm.
Earthworm. Just googled. Seems you're right. But "brain" is apparently a bit of a stretch for what they're working with. Then there are nerve clusters here and there, so maybe I was thinking of those. I didn't retain much of anything from biology, not my forte
Wooooahhh
They breathe through it
But they won't drown, it's more of a moisture control thing if I remember. But then they come out and the sun dries them out, so you should put them back in the grass.
