seems like they’re on that track regardless though doesn’t it? and being the financial hub of the era i guess worth looking to london and Amsterdam as to how they behaved through a transition of world dominance/power to get a more zoomed out perspective. but everything i see from there rarely seems positive. could also just be the skew of internet bias being negative
