Which one? I only have time to do one of them.

Whichever just caused your disk to run out of space and crash your server :-)

The one you forgot to add to /etc/logrotate.d

Hire a cleaner.

Automate log file rotation.

logrotate FTW

You're familiar with the evil maid attack?

Use a cold card? 👀

Are we doing hourly log files? 😁

I’m a log hoarder. I need those 6 years of nginx logs. I might want to visualize how often I was scanned :)

So do I, but you can have them zipped and put on a spinning disk.

Ahh yeah, totally. My logs are stored in a zfs dataset on spinning rust over nfs mounted in my nginx container. I’m not rich enough for nvme for most stuff except the blockchain😅

Super rituel ☺️👍..Bonne journée Sjors🙏🫂

Only if they are very, very old. Losing important information is much worse than a few MB of storage.

Yep, that's the "very old" case. Or something is logging very frequently, which indicates a problem.

No it wasn't very old, just out of control debug logging.
