Correct! As long as the relay is on your list you will get the notification.

Thank you! I am just wanting to see it in action but I didn't want to assume I understood what would happen.

If you want to see it in action earlier, you can also temporarily add inbox.nostr.wine as a relay. You should get a notification right away!
