do you let them free range?
They don't get the full 40 acres but they do have a big area that is theirs to roam in. For safety we lock them up in a fox proof area over night.
we're trying to decide if we want to let ours roam around on their own during the day. How far from their coop do they roam?
They have an area a little bigger than a tennis court which is our main orchard with lots of native vegetation to get under to hide from the Eagles. I have a 4 acre paddock next to that which I'm looking at options to open up for them but there's less cover. They spend most of their time in their pond under the stone fruit trees which is right by their coup anyway.
