I think you should reevaluate your setup then, that doesn’t seem right. Just with your relay or…?

I also run an image host, a translation server for use with Damus and was hosting a per tube instance. Takes quite a bit to host all that.

Hmm even the nostr build guy only pays like $70 per month for that.

Peer tube does transcoding, and translation alone takes an 8 core instance.

I’ve gotten costs down to around $100 monthly, but it was higher previously.

Oh ok, that makes more sense (I don’t know anything about servers).

Some of it was learning, but yeah. Translation and transcoding are both expensive. The relay itself can toodle along on a very cheap instance.

You people scream freedom all day while doing nothing more than looking at the value of bitcoin against the dollar you claim to hate so much. Bitcoin is nothing more than a fancy investment toy.

I understand why ppl like crypto, the idea is interesting. But it’s never going to be a real currency, the state won’t allow it, and it’s also super risky and inconvenient. It’s also literally a cult, there’s really no other way to put it.

And if it’s not me, it’ll be the children of the plebs that will be free. It might take a while. Willing to put in the PoW.
