All the women in family absolutely ignore no gifts policy and make it mandatory to buy shit.
If you get agreement to exchange nothing you'll get some pricey shit anyway. "I couldn't help myself."

Já si užiju i dárek, ale když se vidíme pouze na oslavách a jinak si přes rok nenapíšeme ani zprávu, má pak předávání krámů pouze punc společenské povinnosti.

There shouldn’t be any gifts between adults honestly. It’s just senseless consumerism and nothing to do with the real spirit of Christmas (which might have pagan roots but that’s a different story 😂).
We are supposed to be celebrating the birth of Jesus, the only man in history who had real followers. As in they will follow him everywhere day and night. How many of our followers would do that nowadays? 😄

This year we are celebrating consumemas at our house. I asked everyone when they need to gift garbage, then they should not wrap it in a layer of colorful garbage.
I assume no one but my wife and I will stick to this.
I don't like christmas at all. I grew up in a "catholic" household and hate the bigotry around it.
