My Chinese friends are like that. During their college years they posted cool things about themselves and fun things they did on the weekend but after they graduated the working life started and they had to made make money to live so they started their own business or started a side hustle and their social media feed turned into a infomercial trying to sell their friends garbage. Almost all of them did that.
The problem is it's not easy to make a second profile social media especially in communist China and even on X it's difficult. Nostr is cooler because you can easily start a second profile.
