The follow/unfollow notifications in #nostr apps are the most useless notifications. Either that, or some people just sit and tap follow/unfollow repeatedly all day long. 🤣🤣🤣

I think some clients are slow to respond to follow/unfollow. In my experience when I’ve tried to follow someone on primal, it looks like it didn’t work, so I click again and end up unfollowing. A third tap then re-follows.
Yea, it’s probably that. Also, sometimes I’ll open someone’s profile and it says I don’t follow them, even though I know I do. But then if I wait a couple seconds it updates and the follow button changes showing that I follow them. If I tapped the button too quickly thinking I wasn’t following them then I guess they’d get those notifications as I unfollowed and refollowed them. Lol. I’d just rather not see the notifications at all.

You get notifications?!
Depends on the app. For example, Nostur notifies for follows and Primal notifies both follows and unfollows.
I had a bug in Nostur where it would lose track of who is already following you and then it appears someone is following you again when they update their contact list, or you open their follows tab.
Unfortunately the only way to fix it is to do a full rescan, which I will have a button for in the next release.
