Yet they occupy 20% of Ukraine & keep gaining. Putin isn't going to stop because gas prices have increased, he's a bit more ruthless than that. You could make the argument the war ends when Ukraine has run out of men to fight because they are all dead. The longer the war continues the more land Russia will take, that's why Zelensky is desperate for a ceasefire.

Ukraine's campaign against Russian refineries and other oil infrastructure is becoming successful enough that fuel prices in Russia are rising and gas stations are rationing it. In some places you need Russian government approval to buy gasoline; ordinary civilians can't get it legally at any price.
