True That.

Any concern of a new vacuum here? You think this could actually hurt the growth of #bitcoin ?

How many people happened to come across a Bitcoin related tweet from outside of their social circles and said oh wow I should buy bitcoin? It's probably fairly low.

That’s a fair point.

That’s a fair point but then how did anyone come to bitcoin? Or are we then saying there’s no growth potential now?

I don’t really have a feeling either way tbh. Just a concern to raise.

Well, in NVK's case, he runs a Bitcoin company and has an awesome review pod. If people come across that and want to follow him on socials, they'll likely follow him to nostr. Same can be said for anyone that has an audience if their content, personality or whatever makes them want to interact.

Do you think nostr needs Twatter as a funnel? Did Twatter need Facebook when it launched?

It’s a good point. And I agree with the reasons to focus one’s time on nostr. But to ignore a potential funnel, or a large audience, and work to engage them seems…wrong, too.

Yeah, I get that side of the coin, too. Ultimately it will be up to pleb word of mouth if all of the bigger accounts do go exclusive.
