Bummer that this can’t redeem to LNURL, Lightning address, or empty amount invoice (CashApp).
As long as scaling is a custodial matter, the biggest custodians are going to be the place to on-board noobs.

So a few thoughts on this:
1. We don't know what information this service gathers
2. Many of the recommended wallet lists are non-custodial options...which is GREAT for basically anything else, but if you are sending someone 10000 sats to get started, you aren't going to be able to open a channel with that. Probably best to stick to custodials at first so that they have some inbound liquidity (Alby, Primal, Lifpay, etc), especially if this is there first time messing with lightning.
3. There isn't really a tutorial on how to redeem the sats, it assumes you already know how to make an invoice and what to do with it.
4. It would be of great benefit if we could add a note to the email being sent so that we could fill in the gaps.

Just tried it out:
Sent 100sats to Outlook-Mail address and redeemed 99sats to #eNuts wallet which minted me some #ecash
Could be a nice tool for onboarding. Will try with some no-coiners soon 😉
This is cool but I feel sorry for all the waiters out there that just need the quick cash and don't want to jump through hoops just to get their money and have to listen to someone blather on about this magic internet money while they have other customers and duties waiting. 🤣
Maybe just use this feature with folks who aren't on the job give these guys and gals a break?
Most live on daily, cash tips so something like this is a pain in the ass for the average wait person.

Just setup a Phoenix wallet to try and 1000 Sats wouldn't go. Which wallet should I recommend to folks? I'm sending using my Alby wallet.
Had you opened a channel or is this the first deposit?
First deposit. I just acted like I'm brand new to it, so I sent it to my own email, then setup a new wallet just like a newbie would. Is that fee a one time or just something specific to Phoenix? If that is the fee that's crazy high.
So since you didn’t open a channel with a big deposit like 100k sat min I’d say it was either a sub swap back to onchain funds or a really small channel. But I’d go with the first one? Fees fluctuate with the mempool fees.
That was a channel open.
My first swap in was a 25k sat trans with 3k sat fee.
