Just setup a Phoenix wallet to try and 1000 Sats wouldn't go. Which wallet should I recommend to folks? I'm sending using my Alby wallet.

Had you opened a channel or is this the first deposit?
First deposit. I just acted like I'm brand new to it, so I sent it to my own email, then setup a new wallet just like a newbie would. Is that fee a one time or just something specific to Phoenix? If that is the fee that's crazy high.
So since you didn’t open a channel with a big deposit like 100k sat min I’d say it was either a sub swap back to onchain funds or a really small channel. But I’d go with the first one? Fees fluctuate with the mempool fees.
That was a channel open.
My first swap in was a 25k sat trans with 3k sat fee.
