My friend I've been orange pilling the last couple months has perhaps a better understanding of servers and raspbery pi than me, even if not by a lot. After talks yesterday, we are planning on eventually setting up a node together.
Perhaps two brains are better than one in this situation.
He's still got to stop saying "crypto", but we are working on it 😂

His enthusiasm has been great. He just hasn't spent much time researching so I've been trying to drop 5 years of information in pieces bits at a time.
But it has been a lonely 5 years otherwise.
Only managed to get my cousin to see it otherwise.
The friends that have gotten into it have only cared about making money. Didn't care at all about the fundamentals. Mentioned it a couple months after they told me they were buying in and they said "oh yeah I sold that a few weeks later. I made $300! Can you believe it?"
I've been really heavy handed on trying to get him to see sats as sats. And an uncesorable monetary network as long as you hold your own keys. Bound to finite supply. Not as a dollar conversion. But unlearning that takes time. He's receptive though so. Going better than it could be 😂

I've got a basic bitch Bitcoin core node on an old laptop, using Sparrow and my hardware device.
But I keep running into problems trying to set up a second with Umbrel on the raspi but just haven't had enough time to reflash everything and try again.
Maybe some co op will give me the incentive.
That’s awesome , I have gone through the steps getting a node synced on a different device from what I’m using for my personal relay but I’m lacking storage space for right now , these half T and full T drives are too small for this kind of future ,, especially since I’ve been adding all my pictures and music to my relay for all my connected devices .. I figure as soon as I get my hardware wallet I’ll have to get it figured out! I’ve been trying to ping several buddies and see if they could offer a little help with the software side ,, I have no idea what I’m doing using a docker and just way to new with Ubuntu ,, I’m a fast learner though and I’m not gonna quit ,, good luck !
