It’s possible they are only allowing for a small amount of RAM to be used by core. You can adjust that amount in command line. And Umbrel allows for adjusting too, not sure if start9 allows for that.
Downloading over Tor maybe, number of connected peers, CPU limitations on a Pi. Its not just Start9 ive done it with others nodes and on a Pi its several days even on 8gb version. On a laptop its much quicker though still a day or two.
Common causes
- Clear net vs tor only
- dbcache settings for ibd not set
- cpu + mem being wasted by other processes checking of Bitcoin is ready (e.g. don't run Electrs or Fulcrum until after IBD is done sync)
