The banking requirements and regulations for any fiat-dealing business kills any prospects for decentralization or even open source.

I would like to be wrong, so are there examples of banking apps/libraries that are open source? One that connects directly to my bank without need for a 3rd party money transmitter middleman? Any money transmitter apps/libraries that are open source?

viable open source hardware is essentially nonexistent .
