People also don’t see the fees of the incumbent system because they are baked into the cost of goods, so they think it’s “free”. I’ve had surprisingly good interactions with folks on this point when I bring it up after they declare whatever transaction they did was “free”.

100% and in so many ways this is reality. All these idiots seem to think businesses just absorb expenses and don't pass them on. No one should be able to touch the economy or make any economic policies unless they have many times signed the front side of pay checks.
TAX THE CORPORATIONS - equals raise prices for consumers.
