I reckon EU is just as much censored, we can't even get RT or Sputnik on our providers' DNS servers!
Would you feel more comfortable protesting in front of the capitol in the EU or Russia?
EU doesn't have a capitol. 🤣 But according to the idea of your comment I would probably feel more comfortable in Russia in front of Kremlin, as I've been to numerous protests in Slovenia where the police beat and fined protesters.
The good thing about post-soviet slavic countries is that the police is generally not as strong and as armed as in the US. So during the protests it's more of a fair game.
I think I'd still rather protest in EU countries than in Russia, because even though they will beat you and arrest you in both, I think you have a larger chance to get out of in EU.
Spot on. Wish more people focused on pushing for freedom rather than tearing down America. America was founded on incredible principles. A country with the sole purpose of protecting rights. It has had horrible injustices in its history, but that founding spirit is not lost. Relative to every other country, America is a beacon for freedom. I still believe we can live up to it, even though there is much work to do.
Russia on the other hand…I have nothing nice to say.
Depends what I was protesting. Straight anti-regime I'd rather be in the EU (for now). Anti-child-sex-change I'd rather be in Russia.

The reaction to the Jan 6 protests, from what I've seen of the footage, was corrupt. there's no way I'd go to a protest around that building anymore if I thought it would piss off the ruling party

not for me. I don’t aspire to be a hero. it’s the laziness in me. or maybe just scared. or maybe because i believe human history is full of the same and whatever is happening today will continue to be so.

Example - I know people from russia who don't support war or gov in general. Some of them have two phones, one public one for home, because police can ask to check your phone and find what you saying about war. And they clean their phones before any checkouts (like in airport)
