not a good idea. then nobody use other clients and it become hard for other developers and teams to succeed on nostr...
But the code will be opened. If no Nostr good clients be developed, nostr will not succeed.
Today what we see is many developers trying to make nostr clients, but these developers don't know how to do this. They would be better working for projects that knows how to develop good products for the masses.
that's good to have big teams working on good clients. but a lot of people know jack. that's a kind of hype which make everyone to just use that clients because of jack. that's a little hard to explain. ๐ตโ๐ซ
One good client of each category, will always win. The important thing is having alternatives if something goes wrong.
You can't compete with big techs apps with bug and ugly clients.
i dont get the difference from legacy social media then, most people see theres something wrong but decide to remain on those platforms, the exact same thing could happen with popular clients. there is a clear need of expansion and diversity within the #nostr space
and i personally think that could be achieved if we market and talk about nostr a lot more and also create innovative features. only then people would be interested bc its not some sort of remade social media but a whole new different thing.
Big teams must rely on advertising for powerful companies.. we will end up full circle.
In that case, what they need is research and discovery grants..
It's gonna be a messy ammass of clients much like Linux distros
and then hand it to elon cusk? Nah.. Grant builders that want freedom, not self interest.
