Japan never had a Covid mask mandate, only guidelines which most people followed. The guidelines relaxed a lot recently but everyone (at least around here) is still wearing a mask.

I have a feeling it will be another year before people finally unmask and probably another 3-5 before people feel at ease around each other in close proximity.
