Japan never had a Covid mask mandate, only guidelines which most people followed. The guidelines relaxed a lot recently but everyone (at least around here) is still wearing a mask.

I have a feeling it will be another year before people finally unmask and probably another 3-5 before people feel at ease around each other in close proximity.

All the people need time back to normal life.

Well, hopefully they follow my lead 💪 I’ll do the socially unacceptable thing so they can feel like it’s ok to not be scared anymore.

I feel you, all people need time back to normal life, it's been a long time since we've felt so much strife. #[2]

It’s probably also more true in Europe and NA than many realize. I’m seeing a distinct shift in public gatherings, relatively few people are willing to attend as easily and those that do are more fragile.

It was common practice to wear a mask in Japan prior to covid. I believe it's considered polite to wear a mask when you feel sick.

Yeah when you feel sick …

Yes 💯 correct. Because Japanese are not individualists like in USA but collectivists.

Japan can enforce rules/guidelines through public shaming. Works in most asian countries, i guess it has something to do with the collectivism

Public shaming you say?

In Japan, shame is worse than death. Is the conclusion i draw from my extensive research in japanese culture (reading "musashi") lol

😂 sorry to burst your bubble but this isn’t the edo period anymore…

hahaha 😹

It's even becoming popular to eat at restaurants with a “table for one”.

People definitely don’t want to make a fuss or stand out but it’s not worse than death lol

It was a joke 😁🤙 i don't know much about Japan, is what i was trying to say

That's what they tried in the West though. Commies trying to land a foot.

it worked to some degree honestly

Not sure what you’re talking about

Are we not all in this together? Do t you want to safe your loved ones? Do you want to be that selfish? Guilt trapping

In Nostr, sometimes I don't know who I am responding to 😅

in the west, it's usually 'presumably hard' to enforce rules by shame from peers. But in fact, a lot of peer pressure was felt during that time, even friendships were teste if one of the friends didn't wear a mask, he was shamed. I didn't think it was possible in Europe, because people are too individualistic , but i was wrong .

Certainly opened my eyes to angry mob mentality and that democracy can be pretty dangerous to the individual.

So much worse lies in the world besides hurting someone's feelings.

I think authorities abuse that social pressure in some cases to just get what they want. Whether it's selling vaccines for profit or cencorship.

I'm pretty convinced the Texas shooting was a deepstate run psy op.

I doubt I'll ever have enough money to fight the deepstate in court, even if I was able to convince a jury (assuming fair play in court).

I will never be able to speak my mind about it ever again.

But since the public caved to that emotional concensus, it's now solidified in a precedent

Sometimes I wonder how this herd mentality, and the manipulation of the herd, will affect Bitcoin. Eventually, do they all get a say in it? Or will it remain our little instrument in our closed off world.

Remember: Alex Jones was the first person to start talking about the abuse on Epstein-Maxwell island, years before the mainstream media. He was dismissed then as a conspiracy theorist, and this lawsuit was partly punishment for speaking out about that.

I think he also had a video about 10years ago where he said they were going to mass vaccinated the entire world.

Could be. Not seen that from Alex Jones, but David Ike certainly did.

Which Asian countries??

Korea, Thailand, China... maybe more

It's basically where people care a lot about loosing face, you can manipulate people easier if you leverage shame

Masks are problems in summer because of heat stroke. Hopefully summer changes.

Good day #[1] 😀
