Part of me so viscerally agrees with this line of thinking. And another part feels like this is like EA/other game and app developers introducing microtransactions into everything. Microtransactions, while they have shown to have some staying power, are pretty broadly disliked by consumers. Curious if #[2]​ or anyone else has any thoughts on this and how nostr can avoid the feelings of annoyance and being “nickeled and dimed” that are often associated with microtransactions.

The nice thing about Damus is we have a choice. Also other clients may take a different approach.

Totally agree. The voluntary nature of a zap and the lack of a “pay-to-win” features of posts that receive zaps separates zapping from video game style microtransactions. An important distinction imo.
