"In imposing DST, the government hasn’t changed the sun, stars, nor the revolution of the earth that brings to us what we call daylight. Instead, the government has merely changed our reckoning of the time. The government requires us to declare the same *actual* time today to be an hour earlier than it was yesterday, and then we are to marvel that we have “an hour more of sunlight in the evening.” If we must persist in self-deception, the best that could be said is that they’ve “redistributed” daylight from the morning to the evening." I go by Zulu time (UTC), despite having lived my whole life in the Eastern Time zone. I switched in 2017 since Bitcoin timestamps are recorded in UTC.

It is difficult to get used to, but I am glad I made the switch. Juggling different timezones when interacting with other bitcoiners around the world any other way than using UTC is maddening.

I was so serious about making the switch that I created a subdomain for it; https://timestamps.glencooper.com/

Now when the EST/EDT switch happens, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it used to.

I think that if everyone worldwide lived by the same UTC time it would make the world a better place. I don't see it happening anytime soon though unfortunately.
