I go by Zulu time (UTC), despite having lived my whole life in the Eastern Time zone. I switched in 2017 since Bitcoin timestamps are recorded in UTC.
It is difficult to get used to, but I am glad I made the switch. Juggling different timezones when interacting with other bitcoiners around the world any other way than using UTC is maddening.
I was so serious about making the switch that I created a subdomain for it; https://timestamps.glencooper.com/
Now when the EST/EDT switch happens, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it used to.
I think that if everyone worldwide lived by the same UTC time it would make the world a better place. I don't see it happening anytime soon though unfortunately.
